STRUKTUR ARGUMENTASI TEKS DEBAT SANDIWARA INDRAMAYU:KAJIAN ANALISIS WACANA PEMENTASAN BINA REMAJA INDAH

This study examines how argumentative structures are constructed in the debate text of the Bina Remaja Indah Indramayu sandiwara performance, focusing on the interaction between Ki Tiong and Demang BI Kartasura in the first scene (Drip 1). Using the three-dimensional critical discourse analysis framework proposed by Teun A. van Dijk, this qualitative descriptive research is based on data obtained from video recordings that were transcribed into written form. The analysis reveals that the debate develops through a recurring argumentative pattern involving stages such as claim, rebuttal, and reinforcement, supported by the use of rhetorical questions, affective diction, and analogical reasoning grounded in moral and religious values. From a social cognition perspective, the debate reflects a contrast between agrarian resistance and colonial pragmatism, while in its broader social context, it represents a form of symbolic resistance discourse rooted in the historical experience of colonialism in Indramayu. Overall, the study highlights that van Dijk’s model is applicable for analyzing traditional performance texts and offers a contribution to the academic documentation of local cultural discourse.
