Publication Ethic

Alofon: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, referring to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as well as the Regulation of the Head of the Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) Number 5 of 2014 concerning Scientific Publication Ethics. These ethical principles serve as guidelines for all parties involved in the publication process, including the publisher, editors, reviewers, and authors.

The publication ethics of this journal are based on three main principles:
(1) Neutrality, meaning free from conflicts of interest in all stages of publication;
(2) Fairness, ensuring equal rights for all parties, particularly authors, without discrimination;
(3) Honesty, upholding scientific integrity by avoiding duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.

In accordance with COPE guidelines and LIPI regulations, there are four main pillars of scientific publication ethics that form the foundation of this journal’s management:

  1. Publisher Responsibilities; The publisher is responsible for establishing publication policies and programs, facilitating the work of editors and reviewers, and ensuring that all publication processes adhere to ethical standards. The publisher must respect independent editorial decisions and ensure that sponsors or partners do not influence journal policies or manuscript evaluation processes.
  2. Editor Responsibilities; Editors are responsible for making final decisions on manuscripts based on the review process. Editors must ensure that the review process is fair, objective, and timely, maintain manuscript confidentiality, and prevent any form of manipulation in the publication process. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific merit of the manuscript without discrimination against the authors.
  3. Reviewer Responsibilities; Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and professional evaluations of submitted manuscripts. They must maintain confidentiality, assess the accuracy of data, the validity of references, and the relevance of concepts used. Reviewers should avoid conflicts of interest and provide recommendations based on sound academic judgment.
  4. Author Responsibilities; Authors are responsible for the originality and validity of their submitted work. They must ensure that the manuscript is their own work, free from plagiarism, and has not been previously published. Authors are also required to properly cite all references, disclose sources of research funding (if any), and declare the absence of conflicts of interest. If errors are identified after publication, authors must promptly provide corrections or clarifications.
